Awake Yoga Teacher Training – Fall 2025 Schedule

Duration: September – December 2025 (12 weeks)
Format: Hybrid (Self-Paced Online Learning + Weekend In-Person Sessions + Practicum + Assisting/Observing)
Total Hours: 200 (140 In-Person + 40 Online + 20 Assisting/Observing)

Week 1: Orientation & Foundations

Online Learning (Week of September 8-12) – 2 Hours

  • Program Overview and Expectations

  • Introduction to the Seven Principles of Asana

In-Person (September 12-14) – 14 Hours

  • Friday (6:00-9:00 PM): Orientation and The Seven Principles of Asana

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-4:00 PM): Core Asana (Standing Postures and Forward Bends)

  • Sunday (10:00 AM-4:00 PM): Core Asana (Alignment and Progressions)

Week 2: Teaching Methodology & Class Planning

Online Learning (Week of September 15-19) – 4 Hours

  • Class Planning and Scripting (Recorded Lecture and Discussion)

In-Person (September 20-21) – 9 Hours

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-2:00 PM): Class Planning and Scripting (Application and Exercises)

  • Sunday (10:00 AM-2:00 PM): Teaching Tools (Voice, Demonstration, and Adjustments)

Week 3: Anatomy, Physiology, & Kinesiology

Online Learning (Week of September 22-26) – 10 Hours

  • Video Lectures on Anatomy, Physiology, and Kinesiology

  • Online Quizzes and Case Studies

In-Person (September 26-28) – 15 Hours

  • Friday (6:00-9:00 PM): Introduction to Functional Anatomy

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-5:00 PM): Musculoskeletal System and Movement Patterns

  • Sunday (9:00 AM-5:00 PM): Nervous System and Yoga Applications

Week 4: Core Asana – Weekend 2

Online Learning (Week of September 29-October 3) – 0 Hours

In-Person (October 3-5) – 14 Hours

  • Friday (6:00-9:00 PM): Refinements of Standing Poses

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-4:00 PM): Core Asana (Backbends and Twists)

  • Sunday (10:00 AM-4:00 PM): Core Asana (Progressions and Sequencing)

Week 5: Meditation & The Subtle Body

Online Learning (Week of October 6-10) – 0 Hours

In-Person (October 10-12) – 20 Hours

  • Friday (6:00-9:00 PM): Introduction to Meditation

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-5:00 PM): Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi Practices

  • Sunday (9:00 AM-5:00 PM): Subtle Body Concepts (Chakras, Koshas, and Tattvas)

Week 6: Business & Ethics

Online Learning (Week of October 13-17) – 9 Hours

  • Ethics and Professional Conduct (4 Hours)

  • The Business of Yoga (5 Hours)

In-Person (October 18-19) – 2 Hours

  • Saturday (12:00-2:00 PM): Ethics and Professionalism (Live Q&A)

Week 7: Core Asana – Weekend 3

Online Learning (Week of October 20-24) – 0 Hours

In-Person (October 24-26) – 14 Hours

  • Friday (6:00-9:00 PM): Core Asana (Inversions and Arm Balances)

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-4:00 PM): Advanced Postures and Sequencing Strategies

  • Sunday (10:00 AM-4:00 PM): Teaching Practicum (Peer Feedback and Refinements)

Week 8: Yoga Philosophy & History

Online Learning (Week of October 27-31) – 8 Hours

  • Yoga Sutras (4 Hours)

  • Bhagavad Gita (4 Hours)

In-Person (November 1-2) – 7 Hours

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-3:00 PM): Yoga History and Influences

  • Sunday (10:00 AM-2:00 PM): Philosophy Discussion and Case Studies

Week 9: Pranayama & Breathwork

Online Learning (Week of November 3-7) – 0 Hours

In-Person (November 8) – 8 Hours

  • Saturday (9:00 AM-4:00 PM): Pranayama Techniques and Practices

Weeks 10–12: Practicum, Assisting, and Final Assessments

Online Learning (November 10-30) – 4 Hours

  • Self-Recorded Teaching Assignments (Submission and Feedback)

In-Person (Self-Scheduled November 10-December 7) – 6 Hours

  • Trainees Teach Five Classes with Feedback

In-Class Assisting & Observing (November 10-December 7) – 20 Hours

  • Trainees will assist and observe lead instructors during real studio classes.

  • These hours will be scheduled with the lead trainers and will involve hands-on assisting, observing student progress, and refining communication skills.

Graduation & Certification (December 14)

  • Closing Ceremony and Completion of Program
